by Experience Oz + NZ Staff

The final month of winter, August in Sydney gradually begins the upward temperature swing once again and is generally a good time to visit the city before the hoards of visitors begin arriving in the months leading up to summer.

Maximum temperature averages for August in Sydney hover around the 17-degree mark, although it is not uncommon for days in the mid-20's to occur, while minimums sit at a still-chilly average of around 9 degrees. August is also one of the windiest months of the year, so while the apparent temperature may indicate a warmer day out, the wind can quickly change that.
