After visiting Aussie World, I’d say that it’s probably more enjoyable for kids than adults. That said, two of the main highlights for me were the Illusionarium and the Halloween-themed Mayhem Maze (the set and actors were great at creating a very unsettling atmosphere). We visited the park on Boxing Day; we drove up from Brisbane and got stuck in traffic for about 2-3 hours, so I’d definitely recommended taking potential traffic into consideration and arriving early enough to leisurely make your way through all the attractions.

We all had a great day at Aussie World. It's a great place for a relaxed day out. There are a few thrill rides for the big kids and loads of rides and activities to enjoy as a family. The staff were all friendly and helpful. There's a good amount of shade in the line-up areas and lots of places to sit down. We especially loved the Bombora Bounce, the Giant Slide and the Redback (for the big kids) I wouldn't recommend the simulator ride - the graphics are really old and it is so hot and stuffy I couldn't wait to get out of there. Now there aren't massive thrill rides like the Gold Coast but there aren't massive lines either which is a major bonus and it is aimed more at family fun - we had a great day together.

Aussie World is wonderful and worth the money. My children don't stop all day and it's never over crowded. Thanks Aussie World and Experience Oz!

We got entry for 3 + toddler. There were hardly any queues so that was really great for my older child (10) as she was tall and could get on all rides by herself. It wasn't so much fun for the other 3 as the toddler was too short for most of the rides and daddy was too big to get on the toddler rides with him. We stood around alot waiting for the older child. Daddy got on 2 or 3 rides and that was all. The only thing we could all get into together as a family was the Illusionarium and that was very enjoyable (for all of us except daddy). Was probably my fave and only cos daddy got lost in the room of mirrors and when I found the green button he congratulated me and started walking to 'me' but ran into a mirror as it was my reflection lol. Then he got stuck in one of the other rooms towards the end as he was carrying a backpack and he was yelling that he lost the toddler but the toddler had made it into the next room leaving him alone to fight the maze! Lol! Poor daddy. Needless to say - that was the highlight of our visit for me and it might be at the expense of poor daddy keke. I can only give 3 stars as the food was really pricey for the small amount you receive. Lots of chips but lack of anything else in the kids' meals. The kid's fish & chips meal was $9.95 and had 1 small piece of fish and a whole lot of chips plus a drink. The pup meal had the world's smallest pup and enough chips to feed 2 adults! The adult fisherman's net had 2 small fish and 3 calamari rings. You also had to pay extra to get sauce as they provided none. Only a slice of lemon. It is probably best for teenagers on an annual pass as they can go without their parents but for us, it was not that great as we were tag alongs to our 2 kids and also due to the age gap between them.

We had the best day ever at Aussie World, the kids were so excited leading up to it and it didn't disappoint. We went on our (Fraser Coast) show day which was a quit day on the Sunny Coast as it was a regular school day for them. We didn't have to queue for anything so the kids were on and off the rides all day with no delays. Excellent value for the whole family.

Top tips

"With over 30 rides and attractions included in the entry ticket, allow yourself plenty of time to make the most out of your day at Aussie World. The Pub at Aussie World is a great place for lunch and a cold drink."

If you're visiting Queensland's Sunshine Coast and are looking for a wholesome, good time with the family, then consider a trip to Aussie World.

Aussie World is a mid-sized theme park whose mantra is 'Fun Is Our Thing'. The park has recently been refurbished to offer a new suite of rides and modern touches that will please the eye. The general vibe walking through the park is happy and bright, and whether you're visiting for just a few hours or a whole day, you'll be sure to have a good time.

You can drive yourself easily from various locations on the Sunshine Coast, Brisband and the Gold Coast. There is parking on site to accommodate self-driving visitors. If you're looking to catch public transport, you can hop on the 615 bus from Maroochydore, Alexandra Headlands, Mooloolaba and Sippy Downs.

  • Great family fun

What you'll do

Good all year round fun

Aussie World Sunshine Coast Jetsetting Kids

Aussie World is open 363 days of the year and has rides and attractions that will suit your family - no matter the season. The 'Plunge' log ride and 'Leak n Log' splash playground will keep your family cool through summer.

Activities like 18 hole putt putt and a five-story high slip and slide will keep you moving through winter.

Family friendly food and beverage options

Aussie World Sunshine Coast Jetsetting Kids

If you or your child have special dietary requirements there is no need to worry about the food on offer at Aussie World. The 'Fun Cafe' has a great range of healthy options for families and kids and best of all, they will be kept entertained while they eat.

This bright and cheery cafe opens out to the main street of Aussie World where you're most likely to see roaming children's entertainment characters. Kids are encouraged to take part in the action by trying their hands at circus skills or snapping a photo with a favoured Disney princess or two.

Within the café, there is plenty to look at. Babies and toddlers will love looking up at the ceiling to see beautifully suspended clouds and hot air balloons and even a toy train tooting it's way around on a ledge near the ceiling.

All-in for unlimited fun

Aussie World Sunshine Coast Jetsetting Kids

At Aussie World, you can go on rides and attractions as many times as you like as it's all included in the one admission price. Note: Arcade and sideshow alley games are additional and are completely optional.

Many rides in the park are very more-ish! The newest ride the 'Bug Run' is a great example of this. This beautifully themed roller-coaster looks very similar to childhood favourite 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar'.

This ride will take you and your little ones through an oversized fantasy garden at six (6) kilometres per hour. This ride is very fun so please don't leave it until the end of the day. You WILL want to go on it again and again!

There is something for the whole family

Aussie World Sunshine Coast Jetsetting Kids

Aussie World is ideal for families with small children. The wait times in lines are reasonably short (which is great for managing attention spans) and there is just so many things for kids to do – toddlers included.

Something that you might not know is that more thrill-seeking rides have been introduced making it a good option for kids aged 10 and over. Dads and the more adventurous should definitely check out the 'Wasp', the 'Dark Rebel' and the 'Redback!', the 'Space Ship Shaker Swinging Ship' could also be added to this list.

I rode this one with my crazy and brave five-year-old and although I had my eyes closed for most of the time, I reported back that it was awesome!

'Professor Bogglesworth's Illusionarium' is also unique to Aussie World and should not be missed for some indoor trick-eye mind bending fun!

Make a day of it

Aussie World is part of a larger precinct that includes a pub and village shops. The style is uniquely themed to outback Australian life. Stop for an early traditional Aussie dinner before you go home, check out the shops for some souvenirs and don't forget to pick up some home-made fudge for dessert!

My Recommendations

Aussie World Sunshine Coast Jetsetting Kids

If you're looking for an alternative to the glitz and glamour of the Gold Coast or fast-pace of Brisbane, take the edge off with a trip to the Sunshine Coast.

Here everything, including the theme parks, is just that bit more relaxed and manageable with kids, and there are plenty of opportunities to create memorable moments through great experiences like a day at Aussie World.

Paula Geinitz of Jetsetting Kids visited Aussie World as a guest of Experience Oz + NZ and Aussie World.
