Bobs Cove Track

What you can expect

A relatively easy track, Bob's Cove Track journeys from Twelve Mile Delta to the picturesque Bob's Cove. Bob's Cove - or Te Punatapu, which means 'the sacred waters' - is a gem to explore with great swimming and fishing opportunities as well as historic sites and scenic walkways. Walkers should allow up to 2 hours each way for the track which encompasses a number of different local trails into one including the Bob's Cove Historic Bridle Trail and the 12 Mile Delta. You can take as long as you like and even spread your visit over a few days as the Twelve Mile Delta camping grounds are fitted with a picnic area and facilities for you to spend a night or two. The track is also suitable for mountain bikers, it is a grade 2 trail and takes around 1.5 hours to complete. Dogs are allowed on the trails, however they must be on a leash.
