For all these astronomical, the Stardome Observatory and Planetarium is a definite must-see in Auckland. With a range of attractions guaranteed to keep the whole visitors of all ages occupied, this is the perfect outing for families, couples and solo travellers. The Planetarium Shows will let you see the creation of the Universe from the comfort of your reclining seat. Running shows both day and night, rain or shine, the big screen will bring stars and planets to life you'll feel as though you're floating past them in space. There are a number of different shows to choose from, each suitable to a different age group (see below for a sample list of movies). If you're looking to get a real life view of space then you can take advantage of the public telescopes outside of Stardome. Use of the telescopes is free of charge and are available to use after the evening shows in the Planetarium. Finally, the Space Gallery and Exhibits are on display providing visitors with an engaging and educational experience to learn about space in all its glory. Visitors are free to browse the gallery and exhibitions before or after their show at the Planetarium. The displays are divided into four main areas; The Universe, Our Place in Space, Looking into the Universe and Getting Off Earth.
