Explore Auckland Zoo

Visit Auckland Museum

The Auckland War Memorial Museum, or Tāmaki Paenga Hira, is a great place to begin your adventure in the city. Featuring a number of impressive, educational and entertaining exhibits, the Museum's calendar is constantly filled with travelling exhibitions.

Spread over 75 hectares of land in the CBD, the Domain is the oldest park in Auckland and is an ideal destination on a warm day. Day 2

See more of Auckland on day two of your stay by experiencing the beauty of the city with scenic tours and activities around the region.

Cycle along the waterfront

Explore some of the best waterfront sites and attractions with a guided cycling tour. Totalling four hours, you will be taken on a 2 hour guided tour along either the eastern or the western waterfront, followed by a 2-hour self-guided tour letting you ride wherever you like.

The Western Waterfront tour will take you toward the Harbour Bridge and through Viaduct, the Wynyard Quarter, Westhaven Marina and the Auckland Fish Market. On the other hand, the Eastern Waterfront tour travels towards the Ports of Auckland, past Okahu Bay, Kelly Tarlton's SEA LIFE Aquarium, and Sir Michael Joseph Savage Park before arriving at Mission Bay where you can enjoy a swim in the ocean.

Explore Rangitoto Island

A dormant volcano located just off the coast of Auckland in the Hauraki Gulf, Rangitoto Island is a small but adventurous island.

An iconic landmark in the region, the island stretches just 5.5 kilometres wide. The pest-free island is a popular destination for hikers, with the summit track ascending 259 metres above sea level and producing incredible, panoramic views of Auckland and the surrounding gulf.

If hiking isn't your kind of fun, the island is also popular for swimming, fishing, diving, boating and wildlife spotting. The island is accessible by public ferries and private boats and is completely empty. Void of any shops, visitors are reminded to bring their own sealed food and water.

After a big day exploring the region, take it easy with a visit to Silo Park. Every Friday and Saturday nights the park comes alive with large crowds, live music, and fresh food.

Make your way down to this popular precinct to browse the Friday or Saturday night markets, vibe out to the Saturday night Silo Sessions, or enjoy outdoor movies projected onto Silo 7 during the warmer months.

Catch the ferry to Waiheke Island

Make your way over to the popular Waiheke Island for a day of fun and adventure. The fun begins with the ferry ride over, cruising along the Tamaki Strait for 40 minutes before arriving at Matiatia.

The ferries operate on an hourly basis from 5:35 am (on select days) to 12:30 pm so you can get the day started early or take your time, the choice is yours.

The journey over is incredibly scenic, with beautiful views of the region and picturesque scenes thanks to neighbouring boats.

Day 5

Spend your last day taking in the last of the famous city of Auckland by travelling around the city and taking in some of it's most beautiful views.

Sightsee from, walk around or jump off Sky Tower

For incredible, sweeping views of the greater Auckland region, make your way to the top of SkyTower. Rising up to 220 metres in the air, you'll have the best seat in the house to watch the city go about their day below you.

The Sky Lounge Cafe and Bar is located 182 metres up, the Main Observation Level is 186 metres high, and the Sky Deck Viewing Platform sits at 220 metres high.

If simply admiring the views from behind the glass isn't enough for you, you can sign up for the Sky Tower SkyWalk where you'll be kitted up in a jumpsuit and harness to walk around the edge of the tower.

If that still isn't enough adrenaline for you, you can jump off the top of the tower with Sky Jump, where you'll safely drop 192 metres back to the ground.

Climb Mt Eden at Sunset

For incredible views over Auckland city, climb up Mt Eden Summit before sunset and set yourself up to admire the incredible view. Watching the sun fill the sky with hues of yellow, orange and pink while NZ's biggest city comes alive with lights is an incredible and unforgettable sight.

Mount Eden is a relatively easy walk up and is the highest natural point in the city, reaching a height of 196 metres.

One of many volcanic cones in the region, Mount Eden is a popular attraction for its panoramic views and thanks to Auckland's later sunsets you'll be able to sneak the climb into the end of the day.
