Looking to check out one of the most diverse parts of Queensland? The Whitsunday Crocodile Safari is a nature excursion into the estuaries and wetlands of the Whitsundays. The exciting tour takes you deep into the unique tropical environment to see native and migratory birds, mammals, reptiles, marine animals, and approximately 150 estuarine crocodiles!
The Crocodile tour starts off with a cruise along the calm and pristine water of the Proserpine River, Queensland's 'croc spot', where travellers can keep an eye out for the Estuarine crocodiles in their natural habitat. The next leg of the journey is exploring the Goorganga Plains, an international wetland. Discover the diverse wildlife and vegetation in the freshwater wetland while cruising along in a tractor-drawn waggon train. Rasta crocodiles will be popping up when you least expect it while you also have the chance to explore the mangrove ecosystem to view the wallabies, birds (like the Kingfisher and Mangrove Heron), Frilled-necked Lizards, crustaceans, fish - and the Queensland mud crab!
The tour also involves a barbeque lunch, with delicious fresh cooked Damper and brewed Billy Tea, a traditional Australian black tea. All guides are extensively experienced and knowledgeable about the environment - don't hesitate to ask them a question or two!
Prepare for lots of photos as it will be an entire day packed with outdoor 'croc' excitement!
