What you can expect
Get ready to explore the caves of the Britannia Creek Cave Geological Reserve in the Yarra Ranges National Park during an approximately two to three-hour caving adventure with an expert local guide. Your journey begins just 75 minutes from Melbourne with return transfers from the Warburton meeting place. After a safety briefing, you’ll be provided with all the safety equipment you’ll need, including a helmet and head torch to see your way through the caves, led by your guide, with optional overalls available for hire.
On this unforgettable wild caving experience, you’ll be surrounded by the raw beauty of limestone and granite boulder formations. Climb through the subterranean river system’s rocky ledges and twisting passages. Slide down cave walls and crawl through to discover hidden chambers. Keep an eye out for the gentle glow of cave-dwelling glowworms and remarkable fungi that inhabit the area. As you explore, hear insights and stories into the geology of the caves and their formation. - Please meet at Oscar's on the Yarra car park, 3185 Warburton Highway, Warburton VIC 3799.
- Wear clothes that can get wet and dirty, such as long-sleeve pants and a long-sleeve shirt or caving overalls
- A thermal top is recommended
- Closed-toe shoes are required
- Small day bag, water bottle and personal snacks
- Spare change of clothes
- The duration of this experience varies depending on group size
- Not suitable for children aged five years and below
- Children aged six years and above must be accompanied by an adult
- Maximum weight limit is 108kg / 239lb
- Spectators are not permitted
- Minimum of two and a maximum of 10 participants
- Guests are encouraged to check weather forecasts and dress appropriately for varying conditions
- In extreme weather conditions the tour may be cancelled if safety is a concern, you will be contacted by the provider and rescheduled or refunded
- If a tour needs to be cut short or altered due to sudden extreme weather after commencement, a partial refund may be offered at the discretion of the experience provider
- Refunds won't be provided for tours cancelled by the participant after commencement
- A pre-arrival waiver and medical consent declaration form must be completed prior to tour commencement
- Any relevant medical conditions that may affect your participation in the tour must be disclosed to the experience provider prior to commencement of tour
- Change your booking up to 14 days before the start time of your experience
- Changes are not permitted within 14 days of your experience
- Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience
- For cancellations a 10% administration fee will be deducted from the total booking amount
- Confirmation in the form of a tour voucher will be received at time of booking
- Upon completion of purchase, please print the voucher and present on day of the experience
