This guided hiking experience begins with an exciting offroad 4X4 adventure through New Zealand bushland right to the crater's edge as you discover the history of the region. It is here that you will have 360-degree views of the region. Plus dare to run into the centre of the volcanic crater if you wish. The Mt Tarawera volcanic crater experience operates all year round departing at 8.15 am and 1 pm in summer and 10 am in winter with complimentary transfers from Rotorua.
