What you can expect
Discover an underground world just outside Melbourne with this fully guided caving adventure at the Britannia Caves in Yarra Junction. Gear up with a helmet, head torch, and gloves, and step into the depths of the granite boulder cave system. Your guide will share tips and support as you explore, squeeze through narrow passages, and wade through cool streams. As you journey deeper, you’ll discover hidden caverns, glowing with fungi and tiny glow worms.
Be ready to get wet and muddy as this hands-on adventure is filled with fun from start to finish. After emerging back into daylight, you’ll feel that satisfying rush that only comes from real exploration. What you need to know
- Two hour fully guided caving experience
- All safety equipment and safety briefing
- All park and access fees
- This experience is two hours in duration.
- This experience departs at 2445 Warburton Highway, Yarra Junction, VIC 3797, next to the toilet block in Yarra Junction town centre.
- Closed toed footwear
- Clothes you don’t mind getting wet and dirty
- A full change of clothing including footwear for after the caving
- Wear long sleeves and trousers and a few layers of clothing in cooler months
- Minimum age is 10 years old
- Maximum weight limit is 110kg
- Minimum of six and maximum of 12 participants
- Children under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult
- Participants must be able to fit through some enclosed spaces
- One child with every paying adult. Adults with more than one child will be charged at the adult rate
- You will be required to crawl on your hands and knees and slide over rocks during the caving experience; not suitable for those with knee and back issues
- In extreme weather conditions the tour may be cancelled if safety is a concern, you will be contacted by the provider and rescheduled
- Change your booking up to 7 days before the start time of your experience
- Changes are not permitted within 7 days of your experience
- Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience
- Confirmation in the form of a tour voucher will be received at time of booking
- Upon completion of purchase, please print the voucher and present on day of the experience
