A beautiful day on the water on a ship. A wonderful and safe snorkelling experience.
An engaging and professional staff. They made every effort to make us feel safe, whilst being fun and making the day most enjoyable. The snorkelling experience was sensational. The staff made sure we were safe and were very accomodating for non confident swimmers. It was great to see the variety of fish, turtles and sharks. Good quality lunch included. It was wonderful to sail back into Cairns by wind power. Highly recommended.
On our very short break to Northern Queensland
On our very short break to Northern Queensland, we decided to do a day trip to the reef. We chose Ocean Free as we liked the idea of the small group. We booked online before we left home which was easy and straightforward. David and Ken met us at the boat and made us feel welcome. After going through some basic safety overview, we met our skipper- Stuart- and headed off toward Green Island. The weather wasn't overly good (quite windy) so we had rather a bumpy ride, more so on our return journey. The crew helped those who struggled with motion sickness and were very caring and considerate. Once we arrived at our destination, we suited up and went snorkelling under the expert guidance of David and Ken. Despite the strong current and choppy seas, we saw lots of beautiful fish. They provided a tasty lunch and ferried us to Green Island for some leisure time before we headed back to Cairns. All in all, it was a great trip which would have been much nicer on a clear, calm, not windy day. Lovely crew - full marks to them.
