Great experience, everything ran smoothly. Staff on the boat and walter peak farm were all lovely and very informative. The TTS Earnslaw is amazing, had a great time at Walter peak farm tour, the afternoon tea was delicious. The boat ride well worth doing.

Come join us for a unique three and a half hour Walter Peak Garden to Table experience departing from Queenstown aboard the only steamship in the Southern Hemisphere. After a 45 minute cruise, you will arrive at Walter Peak, an iconic destination promising an unforgettable adventure for nature enthusiasts, food lovers and history buffs alike.
Over in Walter Peak, our informative and friendly rural team will welcome and guide you through the lush gardens, sharing insights about the native plants and giving you the opportunity to sample our local produce straight from the source. You'll also have the opportunity to plant a native tree, contributing to the area’s ongoing conservation efforts. Finish off with relaxing in a private dining area with a generous shared platter of homegrown and locally sourced food made with ingredients harvested during your garden tour visit.
At Walter Peak farm in Queenstown, history comes alive, showcasing the rich pastoral traditions that have shaped the region. Marvel at the rustic beauty of the homestead and Restaurant Garden, steeped in stories of the pioneering spirit. The sustainable 'garden to plate' mentality is embodied by the inclusion of a delicious Ploughman's Platter packed with local produce. What you need to know
- All food and beverage purchases aboard the vessels in Milford Sound, Doubtful Sound, Queenstown, and Te Anau, as well as at Walter Peak and the Manapouri Café, do not accept cash. A cashless system will provide a smoother, more efficient experience for both guests and staff
- Payment terminals accept all major credit cards and debit cards, including AMEX, WeChat Pay, AliPay and Union Pay, as well as contactless payment options like Apple Pay and Google Pay.
- Note: Fee of 1.5% applies to food and beverage purchases by credit card only. The fee does not apply to purchases in Retail Store at Walter Peak, or merchandise purchased from our Visitor Centres.

- This experience departs from the RealNZ Visitor Centre on Steamer Wharf, 88 Beach Street, Queenstown
- Pre-purchased ticket holders meet in front of the TSS Earnslaw on Steamer Wharf Dock
- Parking in Queenstown centre can be challenging, please ensure you allow ample time to park your car and check in for your departure

Beautiful scenery and delicious lunch
Travelling via steamboat is a unique experience in itself and well worth doing! The boat ride offers beautiful views of the lake and mountains, and the lunch was delicious, particularly the desserts. The restaurant had a good range of gluten-free and dairy free main menu items and desserts.

This is a very interesting and nice experience for my family
The lunch was great and it was a great experience on the ship as well. The kids have enjoyed a pretty interesting experience. The scenery is also very nice along the way. The sheep show was also nice to watch. Will definitely come again next time.
