What you can expect
This 90-minute honey-harvesting and tasting experience is designed for small groups, making it feel personal and interactive, and perfect for curious minds of all ages. Your journey begins with a guided visit to a working apiary, where friendly expert beekeepers introduce you to the fascinating life inside a beehive. Discover how the colony works together, from the important queen to the busy worker bees, and learn how beekeeping changes with the seasons.
Then it’s time to suit up! Everyone is fitted with real beekeeper gear, including a protective veil, before stepping into the hives for a safe, exciting, up-close encounter. Watch the bees in action, listen to their gentle buzz, and experience the sights and scents of the hive in a calm, hands-on way.
After your hive adventure, enjoy a delicious honey tasting featuring a variety of unique flavours shaped by nature. Then relax with morning tea or coffee and freshly baked sourdough, all while taking in peaceful views by the lake. A frame of warm honeycomb is brought to your table, where you’ll break it down and use a traditional press to watch golden honey flow straight into jars for you to take home.

- A 110-millilitre jar of honey to take home
- Additional honey is available for purchase at the end of the experience.
- Available on Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 12.30pm
- Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of the experience
- This experience is 90 minutes in duration.

- Clothing suitable to the weather conditions on the day
- A hat is encouraged during warmer month
- Umbrella and jacket are recommended for cooler months
- Bookings are essential
- This experience is suitable for all ages and all abilities
- This experience is not suitable for participants with bee allergies
- Participant changes are not allowed
- Minimum of eight and maximum of 40 participants
- Spectators are not permitted
- In the event of rain or inclement weather your experience will still go ahead unless contacted by the experience provider
- Change your booking up to 7 days before the start time of your experience
- Changes are not permitted within 7 days of your experience
- Late arrivals or no show may result in you forfeiting your experience
- Confirmation in the form of a tour voucher will be received at time of booking
