What you can expect

This full-day guided tour starts with a scenic ferry ride to the captivating Otehei Bay. Paddle through crystal-clear waters around Urupukapuka Island, weaving past dramatic rock formations, sea caves only accessible by kayak, and hidden coves teeming with raw coastal charm. What you need to know
- Return ferry from Paihia or Russell
- 4.5–5 hour guided kayak tour with lunch break
- Kayak, spray deck, paddle, life vest, dry bag
- Snorkeling gear (mask, snorkel, fins)
- Water, coffee or tea, and picnic lunch
- Hot showers and island exploration
- Children under 16 years are not permitted
- Daily departures during season: 25 October 2025 – 6 April 2026
- Ferry: Morning until evening
- Kayaking: 10:00am – 3:00pm
- Full day (approx. 9+ hours including ferry and kayak tour)
- Kayak segment: 4.5–5 hours
- Ferry Departure (Full Day):
- Paihia: 8:30am
- Russell: 8:40am Ferry Return:
- Otehei Bay: 5:45pm (or 4:15pm peak season option) Kayak Tour:
- Daily from 10:00am to 3:00pm
- Activewear / Swimwear
- Warm jacket

- Towel and mobile phone

- Not for beginners—expect an adventurous and physically engaging experience
- Participants must be 16+ years with prior kayaking experience
- Medium to high fitness level required
- Maximum of 8 participants per tour
- Weather and sea conditions may affect itinerary
- Change your booking up to 7 days before the start time of your experience
- Changes are not permitted within 7 days of your experience
- Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience
- Tour subject to weather conditions; route may change without notice
- Minimum numbers required; cancellation possible if quota is not met
- Confirmation in the form of a tour voucher will be received at time of booking
- Upon completion of purchase, please print the voucher and present on day of the experience
