What you need to know
- Operational Update: NZONE Skydive will operate half-hourly departures from 1- 7 October 2024 (inclusive), from 7:30 am to 2:00 pm. Regular hourly departures will resume from 8 October 2024, or until further notice.

- Flight up above the Wakatipu Basin where you will have a birds eye view of the dramatic mountains and lakes
- Parachute back down to the dropzone which takes around 5 minutes
- Transfers to and from the central Queenstown reservations shop to the dropzone
- 8am, 9am, 10am, 11am
- Closed Tuesdays
- Upon completion of purchase, you will need to contact the skydive operator to confirm an available skydive time for the day of your skydive. Tour operator contact details will appear on your tour voucher
- Please note that jump times are subject to availability and weather conditions on the day
- Please allow approximately 3.5 hours for the entire experience
- Should I book in for a skydive at the beginning or end of my trip?
- Definitely the beginning!!! The reason being is should the weather not be suitable on the first day of your trip, we can then move you to alternative days. Always book air excursions first, then land and water based activities last
- How long do I freefall?
- You will freefall for up to 60 seconds
- How fast do I free fall?
- The maximum speed is about 200kph!!
- How long is the flight?
- It takes about 15 minutes to reach altitude
- What type of planes are they?
- We have 2 of the largest skydiving planes available, the Supervan 900, which can hold up to 9 tandems so groups of friends can stay together
- I wear prescription glasses, do I have to take them off for my skydive?
- No! We have goggles that will fit over your glasses.
- What about your safety record?
- Over 30 years of experience and more than 350,000 completed tandem skydives
- How do I get there?
- Our meeting point is our Skydive Centre in the middle of town in Queenstown, from there we will take you to and from the Dropzone where you skydive
- Do you allow spectators?
- Providing we have enough space in our buses we can take spectators for free. This won't be guaranteed and only available at the time of the trip. They are welcome to drive themselves to watch though
- Can I take my camera on the plane with me?
- No, this is due to safety reasons, but you can take photos on the ground while getting ready. We do offer Video and Photo packages, which can be purchased on the day
- Can I drive to the Queenstown drop zone myself?
- Yes you can, but you will still need to check in at the NZONE Skydive Centre for the briefing and then they will give you directions
- You will be provided with a jumpsuit, hat, goggles and gloves, so all you need to wear are warm layers and flat and enclosed shoes. If you wear glasses, we have goggles that fit over the top
- Maximum weight is 115kg. All persons over 94kg are subject to Tandem Master assessment at the drop zone
- Minimum jump age is 6 years. Children 12 years & under will be permitted to skydive from a maximum height of 9,000ft
- The minimum weight is 40kgs/88lbs and minimum height is 1.2metres/47.2inches. All passengers must fit securely into the harness
- All children are subject to an assessment on the day by the Tandem Master. Passengers under 18 years require written parental/guardian consent
- Check in the same time as the trip (the time you have selected to jump)
- Weather checks are to be done by the passenger upon check in and not before. Please be aware that skydiving is a very weather dependant activity and cancellations due to unsuitable weather conditions may occur, full refunds will be given if this occurs
- If weather conditions are not favourable at NZONE Skydive, Queenstown, there is an option to transfer to Skydive Southern Alps, Glenorchy or Skydive Wanaka, Wanaka, at no additional cost (subject to availability)
- Free cancellation up to 48 hours prior to experience
- Confirmation in the form of a tour voucher will be received at time of booking
- Upon completion of purchase, please print the voucher and present on day of the experience
- For your information, complete Tour Operator Information including contact details is included on your tour voucher
- Availability was accurate at the time of booking however, is subject to change due to circumstances out of our control. We strongly suggest reconfirming your booking with the tour operator within 24 hours of making your booking and prior to making other travel arrangements
