What you can expect

Join a passionate beekeeper on a working bee farm in Bowral, NSW, for an immersive two hour experience. Start with a tasting of up to 10 distinct honeys, each reflecting its floral source, paired with freshly baked sourdough and morning tea. Learn about bees’ lifecycles and their role in the ecosystem.

Then, suit up in a full-length beekeeper’s suit and gloves to inspect a live hive. Observe different hive styles, including the innovative Flow Hive, and learn how to check for the queen, honey production, and colony health. Enjoy this hands-on, educational adventure for all curious minds!

What To Bring
  • Ankle-covering boots
  • If wearing joggers please bring two pairs of long socks to cover ankles
  • Weather-appropriate clothing
Terms And Conditions
  • Minimum age is 10 years old
  • No known allergies to bee stings
  • Ability to wear a full-length bee suit is required
  • Maximum group size is eight participants
  • Larger groups can be accommodated with additional beekeepers
  • All guests on-site must be booked into the workshop
  • Weather-related cancellations may be rescheduled or refunded
  • The terrain is mostly grassed, flat and there is a small step into the teaching area and the toilet
  • Spectators must be booked but can observe from a safe distance if not participating in hive inspection
Cancellation Policy
  • Change your booking up to 7 days before the start time of your experience
  • Changes are not permitted within 7 days of your experience
  • Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience
