Location

Spend half the day exploring the beautiful Green Island on the Great Barrier Reef with a half day tour departing Cairns at 9am. Aboard the luxurious catamaran, 'Reef Rocket', you'll make your way over to Green Island, a coral cay on the reef which is just a short 45 minute journey from the mainland.

Once you've reached the island you'll be able to enjoy a total of 2 hours exploring the tropical rainforest on the island and the reef surrounding. Guests will also be given the choice of snorkelling equipment to use during your stay on the island or a ride on the glass bottom boat to see the reef from a dry, comfortable position.

“ Staff were very friendly and on hand to assist with people who got sick on the boat ride. Semi-submarine was amazing and a must do, surpasses the glass bottom boat. The half-day was a little short for us as we felt rushed and we will definitely do a full day if we ever return.

Amazing beaches and snorkelling experience! The half day is enough time to make your way around the island with plenty of time to snorkel. I do suggest to snorkel in the experienced area as there for fewer people and the water is clearer. The staff and crew on the boat are lovely especially is rough seas. Great day for all ages.

Well organised. Enjoyed every moment. The whole family loved the experience. One suggestion: Glass bottom boat tour may be scheduled prior to the semi-submarine boat tour. After experiencing the submarine boat, the Glass bottom boat lost its value. Cheers.

A good place to visit. Though half day was still less a time (even though we did not have to do snorkelling). The semi-submarine ride was nice. Had a good time seeing the reef. Crocodile park on Green Island was amazing. Would be amazing if that is also included in a package ao that the time can be managed accordingly.

We booked the Green Island Half Day Cruise with the Glass Bottom Boat and Submarine. What a wonderful experience. We thought Green Island while small had all you need: beaches, snorkelling and diving, spots, shops, restaurants, and even Crocodile House (for extra $19). There was plenty of shade and pristine waters. We did find that the logistics getting to the submarine and the glass bottom was challenging because there were too many people. We ended up at the back of the submarine and we also ended up at the back of the glass bottom boat and had to stand! That meant we didn't have a viewing pane. We made the best of it. We arrived at Cairns via cruise ship. Find out where your ship docks, ours docked at Yorkie Knob and it was a 30-minute tender ride to shore, and it's about 40 minutes to Reef Terminal. We arranged with the vendor for a shuttle, round trip, and that was $22 a person but worth it. Enjoy your trip.
