“ We booked the Convicts Castles and Champagne Cruise for Sunday, 22/4/18. The booking was easy to do and cheaper than direct with the supplier. The day was gorgeous. We boarded the Southern Swan Tall Ship at Walsh Bay and Keegan was our tour guide. We were immediately provided with unlimited champagne and juice and canapes whilst cruising to Goat Island. Keegan provided informative historical commentary for about 1.5 hours around Goat Island. Upon re-boarding the Southern Swan, we were provided with a delicious hot and cold buffet lunch consisting of 3 different salads, hot chicken dish, hot vegetarian dish and rice. The champagne and juice were still flowing freely. Whilst having lunch, we enjoyed a cruise along Sydney Harbour under the Harbour Bridge, past the Opera House and around Fort Denison, returning to Walsh Bay. The overall cruise and service was exceptional and we'd recommend it to anyone.

Loved the tour
5 年 前Loved the tour. Enjoyed Goat Island and great commentary from our tour guide Grace. Tall ship was a new experience, ample food and drink.
Friendly crew
6 年 前Friendly crew, lovely old ship, an Interesting tour of Goat Island and surprisingly good value - especially if you like a glass or two of sparkling! Although living in Sydney, neither my wife nor I had been to Goats Island so we played 'tourist' for half a day and thoroughly enjoyed it. The ship is genuine, 'the real deal' (it's fully rigged but uses the engine for this trip). We'd no sooner left the quay than the bar was 'open' and we were sipping sparkling as we motored under the stern of Queen Elizabeth, towering above us. Passengers on the decks looked down with a hint of envy; so they should! Pretty soon we were at Goat Island and a personable & experienced guide showed us the sights and recounted its history complete with legends, stories & tall tales - all good stuff! (note: a bit of walking but nothing too strenuous) Then back to the ship and a short cruise down the glorious harbour as we sipped yet more wine (beer, soft drinks if you prefer) and dined on a simple but tasty bbq. All too soon we were back at the quay, a bunch of happy campers/sailors. Verdict: Great experience & top value!

6 年 前Loved it. Great location easy to find. Food was good. Staff very friendly. I had a 2 year with me and the staff were great with him. I would absolutely recommend it!
I only paid $44
6 年 前I only paid $44.5 per person, and this was the only reason that made all acceptable. The ship was really small and old. The buffet was not the kind of buffet I want. There was no chance for the "2nd round" - nothing left for people coming late because there is no refill. The buffet ended up with nothing left on the table, even bread. I so regret that I didn't take more prawns at first. The tour was fun, even you don't understand the story, you can still find beautiful views. Overall, not too bad for the price.

7 年 前I took my family on this tour on the 30.9.12, and I would like to applause on how professional everyone conducted themselves. We cannot believe the number of drinks and food that was offered to us on this cruise. Goat Island is a must to see if anyone out there is undecided on what to do when coming to Sydney this cruise should not be missed. Gary our tour guild was so outstanding with his knowledge of the island. Another highlight was having lunch with the spectacular views of the harbour bridge and the lovely surroundings, absolutely wonderful.
