- Arrival and briefing: Meet your guide at the Stawell Yacht Club five minutes before departure. You will be fitted with a life jacket and receive a short safety briefing and basic paddling tips
- The launch: Set off from the shores of Lake Fyans as the sun begins to set. The water is usually calm, making for an easy and smooth paddle
- Nature observation: Follow your guide along the shoreline and take in the views of the Grampians or Gariwerd ranges. Learn about local birdlife and the cultural significance of the area
- Sunset mooring: Stop in a quiet section of the lake as the sky changes colour. Enjoy a light refreshment while watching the sun set behind the peaks
- Twilight return: Paddle back to the yacht club in the soft evening light, arriving just as the first stars begin to appear

- Is there a chance I will get wet during the canoe session? Yes, there is a possibility you may get wet; at the very least, your feet may get wet when getting in and out of the canoe
- Where will we meet the guide and other members of the tour? You will meet your guide at the Stawell Yacht Club at Lake Fyans, with full details provided in your booking confirmation
- What kind of refreshments are provided? A light seasonal snack is included, such as a small cheese platter with a cold drink in warmer months or cake with hot chocolate in cooler seasons
- What is the fitness level required? This is a relaxed, beginner-friendly experience with easy paddling on flat water and no prior experience required
- Is this tour suitable for children? Yes, children aged four and above are welcome, and the stable canoes make it a great introduction to outdoor activities

- The Stawell Yacht Club has toilets and drinking water available on site.
- Not suitable for those who are pregnant
- Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a guardian
- Please advise of any physical limitations you may have at the time of booking
- Minimum of two and a maximum of 10 participants per tour
- Minimum age of four years old
- In the event of rain or inclement weather, your experience will still go ahead unless contacted by the experience provider
- Change your booking up to 7 days before the start time of your experience
- Changes are not permitted within 7 days of your experience
- Late arrivals or no-shows may result in you forfeiting your experience
- Confirmation in the form of a tour voucher will be received at time of booking
- Upon completion of purchase, please print the voucher and present on day of the experience

A great experience
We spent two hours canoeing on Lake Fyans with our guide Kayla who was lovely. She gave us some hints on different paddling strokes, but otherwise allowed us to explore the lake and go to the more quiet and enchanting parts of it. At times, it felt like we were the only ones there. We also had a swim and a nice chat along the way. A great experience overall.
