What you can expect
You’ll be cruising across pristine snow at an altitude of up to 6 000ft above sea level. There are stunning views and plenty of opportunities to stop and take photos. To whet your appetite here are some of photos of the spectacular landscape. The snowmobile tour will move at a pace comfortable for everyone. Our snowmobiles are modern Polaris machines, they are easy to operate, and your guide is right there if you need any assistance. No previous experience is required. In total your trip is around two and a half hours in duration. This includes a 15-minute scenic helicopter flight each way and approximately 1 1/2 hours snowmobiling. At the end of your snow adventure you’ll depart by helicopter for a scenic flight back to Glacier Southern Lakes Helicopters’ base. Our courtesy van will drop you back to your accommodation into central Queenstown.

What you need to know
- 15 minute return helicopter flights from Queenstown
- 75 minute guided snowmobiling adventure
- Outer snow overalls, helmet, snow boots, gloves
- Expert tuition
- We operate 7 days a week with three daily tours (9am, 11:30am and 2pm)
- Snow dependent, our tours operate from May/June to Sept/Oct depending on conditions
- Please allow 2.5 hours for this experience, including approximately 75 minutes on the snowmobile
- Queenstown Snowmobiles are located next to Queenstown Airport on Lucas Place at Glacier Southern Lakes Helicopters
- A courtesy coach is available to pick up and drop off passengers from their accommodation in the Queenstown area
- Comfortable walking shoes/boots
- Windproof jacket
- Warm clothing
- Camera, sunglasses, hat, sunblock and any personal items
- On all scenic flights, minimum numbers apply unless otherwise stated. Individual bookings may be combined if necessary to achieve minimum numbers. We carry a maximum of 6 passengers per aircraft within Civil Aviation Authority restrictions. For aircraft weight and balance purposes, please advise at the time of booking if any passenger exceeds 83kg (CAA standard weight).
