What you can expect

Enjoy a fun-filled mountain adventure with Cardrona Mountain Carting, a unique gravity-powered experience perfect for families and beginners. No experience is needed; hop into your three-wheeled cart and take on purpose-built downhill trails surrounded by stunning alpine scenery. With three custom tracks spanning 3km, everyone can choose their own pace, from relaxed cruising to gentle excitement, making it ideal for all ages.

Your two-hour session includes unlimited laps, so families can ride together again and again, building confidence while soaking up the incredible mountain views. All safety gear is provided, including a carting suit, helmet, goggles, and gloves, ensuring a comfortable and secure experience for every rider. With transport available from Queenstown on selected days, getting to the action is easy and stress-free.

After your ride, unwind at the Noodle Bar and enjoy delicious food with panoramic alpine views, perfect for sharing stories from your downhill adventure together.

  • Available at 10am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm and 2pm from January to March
  • Available at 10am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm from December to January
  • Available Fridays from 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm, 5pm, and 6pm
  • Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the experience start
  • This experience is two hours in duration.
  • This experience takes place at Cardrona Alpine Resort at Cardrona Skifield Road, Cardrona 9382.
  • Clothing appropriate to the weather conditions on the day
  • Closed toe shoes are mandatory
  • Bookings are essential
  • Minimum age is eight years old
  • Minimum height is 100cm
  • Maximum weight 110kg
  • Children aged eight to 12 years old must ride with a ticketed guardian
  • Child rates apply for kids between eight years old to 17 years old
  • Children under 100cm can ride the carts with parental approval
  • Change your booking up to 7 days before the start time of your experience​
  • Changes are not permitted within 7 days of your experience​
  • Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience
  • Confirmation in the form of a tour voucher will be received at time of booking
  • Confirmations are subject to availability.
  • Upon completion of purchase, please print the voucher and present on day of the experience
