What you can expect
This educational five-hour urban beekeeping basics workshop in Sydney allows you to learn everything you need to know to keep a hive in your own backyard. Professional beekeepers and instructors will take you through the history, legislation, and basic beekeeping which will allow you to keep a living hive and start harvesting your own fresh, local honey. This experience is a perfect way to introduce children to the basics of beekeeping getting hands-on with beekeeping equipment, extracting and tasting honey.
Participants will leave this workshop with a deeper appreciation of bees and the important role they play in our ecosystem. Learning about the similarities and differences between the Australian native bees and European honey bees.

- All necessary beekeeping equipment for the workshop

- This experience runs from 10am to 3pm
- This experience is five hours in duration.
- This experience is located in Lugarno, NSW 2210. The full address will be provided upon registration.
- Please ensure you wear long trousers, socks, and fully enclosed shoes.
- Please refrain from wearing strong scents, such as perfume or heavily fragranced deodorant.
- In the event of rain or inclement weather your experience may be rescheduled to a later date
- Bookings are essential
- Change your booking up to 72 hours before the start time of your experience
- Changes are not permitted within 72 hours of your experience
- Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience
- Confirmation in the form of a tour voucher will be received at time of booking
