What you can expect
Experience Milford Sound during a full‑day adventure on land and sea, combining a two‑hour nature cruise with a self‑guided walk on the famous Milford Track in your order of preference. This relaxed, flexible experience lets you explore two incredible perspectives of one of New Zealand’s most iconic landscapes. Choose the 9am session to complete the walk first or the 9.30am session to begin with the cruise. The walk starts with a short boat ride from Deepwater Basin to Sandfly Point before setting off on your own pace along the Milford Track. You’ll enjoy up to four hours on the beautiful 11‑kilometre return trail, leading you through lush rainforest to the stunning Giant Gates Falls, the perfect spot for a picnic, a breather, or even a refreshing swim.
When it's time for your nature cruise, you'll take in the fiord from the water, glide beneath towering cliffs and cascading waterfalls while keeping watch for seals, dolphins, and, if you’re lucky, the rare Fiordland Crested Penguin. With insightful commentary, spacious indoor lounges, open outdoor decks, and complimentary tea and coffee, it’s an easy and enjoyable way to soak up the scenery in any weather.

- Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed
- Paid parking is available at the Milford Sound public car park, approximately a 10-minute walk to the Visitor Centre
- Free parking is available at Deepwater Basin, approximately a 30-minute walk to the Visitor Centre
- Change your booking up to 24 hours before the start time of your experience
- Changes are not permitted within 24 hours of your experience
- Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience
