What you can expect
Join a half day snorkelling tour from the Gold Coast to Cook Island! Come along and discover the marine reserve with the chance to scuba dive alongside incredible marine life including Green Sea Turtles. The protected area is only 15 minutes from Tweed Heads and is an underwater playground just waiting to be explored.
Experienced instructors will take you out on the ‘Ocean Adventurer’ and supply you with professional snorkelling gear for the underwater adventure. After the snorkelling tour, relax on board with some refreshments and on board showers. The half day cruise departs Miami at approximately 7am, Book this Cook Island adventure online here!

What you need to know
- Mask, snorkel, fins and wetsuit provided at no extra charge if required
- Safety briefing and instructions from qualified staff
- Crew supervision and in-water support when required
- Flotation devices available
- Return boat transfers to Cook Island
- Return transport from our Miami dive centre
- Tours depart at approximately between 6.30am-7am but this time is subject to change depending on tide conditions
- You MUST reconfirm the tour time with the operator prior to the booking date
- Allow approximately 5–7 hours, including check-in, transfers and snorkelling
- Duration varies with marine conditions and shared departures with scuba divers
- Your confirmed check-in time will be provided before the activity
- This experience takes place at Cook Island Aquatic Reserve, off Fingal Head in northern New South Wales.
- Check-in is at Gold Coast Dive Centre, 2/56 Paradise Ave, Miami QLD 4220. Return transport to the Tweed Heads launch site and boat transfers to Cook Island are included. Hotel pickup and drop-off are not included.
- Wear swimwear and bring a towel, reusable water bottle, light snack, sunglasses, hat and reef-safe sunscreen.
- Hotel pick up out the area between Surfers Paradise and Burleigh Heads is free, outside this areas will incurred extra fee (extra will be paid directly on the day)
- Customers with medical issues of Asthma , epilepsy , high blood pressure, anxiety, surgeries or ear problems MUST provide a medical certificate from their GP.
- A medical declaration will need to be completed for any activity taken on-board.
- Certified Divers must provide they certification to attend this activity.
- No previous snorkelling experience is required.
- Participants must be confident swimmers in open water.
- Children aged 12 and under require direct supervision by a participating parent or guardian and must use a flotation device.
- If a parent or guardian is not participating, a Private Snorkel Guide may be required.
- All guests must complete the Smartwaiver before arrival
- The minimum age is 8 years. Participants must be confident swimmers in open water and able to board the vessel and enter and exit the water independently.
- This offshore experience includes a river bar crossing.
- Guests with significant back or neck injuries should contact us before booking.
- Guests prone to severe motion sickness should carefully consider suitability.
- The penalty period for trips is 72 hrs from the scheduled trip.
- Reschedules are possible if made outside the penalty period.
- If you wish to reschedule your booking within 72 hrs - 48 hrs of the penalty period, you will incur a $30 administration & re-booking fee.
- Cancellation within 24 hrs is not refundable or reschedulable. Cancelling an activity within 72 hrs of the starting time is non-refundable.
- If you fail to attend or cancel within the penalty period, you will forfeit the full cost of the activity. Cancellations are not possible due to a change of mind.
- Confirmation in the form of a tour voucher will be received at time of booking
- Upon completion of purchase, please print the voucher and present on day of the experience
- Mobile Vouchers are accepted! - Vouchers can also be presented on your mobile device for this attraction
