What you can expect
Join a half day scuba dive tour from the Gold Coast to Cook Island! Come along and discover the marine reserve with the chance to scuba dive alongside incredible marine life including Green Sea Turtles. The protected area is only 15 minutes from Tweed Heads and is an underwater playground just waiting to be explored.
Experienced instructors will take you out on the ‘Ocean Adventurer’ and supply you with professional snorkelling and diving gear for the underwater adventure. What you need to know
- One guided introductory ocean dive
- Approximately 30–45 minutes underwater, depending on conditions and individual air consumption
- Qualified diving instructor
- Full safety briefing and equipment orientation
- All required scuba diving equipmen
- Return transport from Gold Coast Dive Centre in Miami to the Tweed Heads launch site
- Return boat transfers between Tweed Heads and Cook Island
- The guided dive is normally approximately 30–45 minutes, depending on conditions and individual air consumption
- Cook Island is approximately 20 minutes from the launch site by boat
- Check-in and departure times vary according to tides and ocean conditions
- Your confirmed check-in time will be provided before the activity
- Allow approximately 6-7 hours for the complete experience
- Tours departs from 2/56 Paradise Ave Miami, QLD 4220
- Cook Island is situated 15 minutes from Tweed Heads, opposite Fingal Heads
- Check-in is at Gold Coast Dive Centre & Marine Training College, 2/54–56 Paradise Avenue, Miami QLD 4220. Return transport is provided from the dive centre to the Tweed Heads launch site. The boat departs from the Public Jetty, 1A Minjungbal Drive, Tweed Heads South NSW 2486.
- Wear swimwear underneath comfortable clothing.
- Bring a towel, sunscreen, hat, reusable water bottle and warm clothing for after the dive.
- Hotel pick up out the area between Surfers Paradise and Burleigh Heads is free, outside this areas will incurred extra fee (extra will be paid directly on the day)
- Customers with medical issues of Asthma , epilepsy , high blood pressure, anxiety, surgeries or ear problems MUST provide a medical certificate from their GP.
- A medical declaration will need to be completed for any activity taken on-board.
- Certified Divers must provide they certification to attend this activity.
- Please note participants must not fly within 24 hours of diving
- Minimum age: 12 years
- No previous scuba diving experience or certification is required
- Participants must be comfortable in the water
- Participants under 18 require consent from a parent or legal guardian and must be accompanied by an adult
- All participants must complete the required registration forms, liability release and medical questionnaire
- Certain medical conditions or questionnaire responses may require medical clearance before diving
- This activity is not suitable during pregnancy
- Participants must not fly within 24 hours after diving
- This activity is not suitable during pregnancy
- Participants under 18 require consent from a parent or legal guardian and must be accompanied by an adult
- This activity is subject to weather, tides, swell, currents, visibility, safe ocean conditions and minimum participant numbers. The operator may reschedule or cancel the activity when conditions are unsuitable. Wildlife encounters cannot be guaranteed.
- More than 48 hours before the activity: Rescheduling is available at no charge, subject to availability
- Within 48 hours, late arrivals and no-shows: The booking is forfeited and is not eligible for a refund or rebooking
- If the operator cancels because of unsafe conditions, customers will be offered an alternative date or the remedy applicable under their booking terms
- Confirmation in the form of a tour voucher will be received at time of booking
- Upon completion of purchase, please print the voucher and present on day of the experience
