The Doubtful Sound overnight cruise experience begins with a boat tour across Lake Manapouri, followed by a scenic coach ride across the alpine Wilmot Pass. Upon reaching Deep Cove in Doubtful Sound, you'll be welcomed aboard the Wanderer, ready to explore the breathtaking scenery of one of New Zealand's most beautiful fiords.
The Wanderer, purpose-built to navigate the serene waters of southern New Zealand, ensures a comfortable voyage with its cosy accommodations for 36 guests, modern amenities and spacious communal areas.

What you need to know
- All food and beverage purchases aboard the vessels in Milford Sound, Doubtful Sound, Queenstown, and Te Anau, as well as at Walter Peak and the Manapouri Café, do not accept cash. A cashless system will provide a smoother, more efficient experience for both guests and staff
- Payment terminals accept all major credit cards and debit cards, including AMEX, WeChat Pay, AliPay and Union Pay, as well as contactless payment options like Apple Pay and Google Pay.
- Note: Fee of 1.5% applies to food and beverage purchases by credit card only. The fee does not apply to purchases in Retail Store at Walter Peak, or merchandise purchased from our Visitor Centres.

- This experience departs from 64 Waiau Street, Pearl Harbour, Manapouri. Allow 2.5 – 3 hours if driving from Queenstown and 20 minutes from Te Anau
- Free overnight parking is available in Manapouri
- One carry-on bag per person is recommended for passenger convenience and for safety reasons

- Single passengers must pay sole occupancy rates for a twin share cabin.
- Family share cabin requires minimum of 2 guests per cabin.
- Children Twin-Share Cabin - An adult must be booked per child
- Children Family-Share Cabin - An adult must be booked per child
- There are no ensuite rooms on the Wanderer vessel but there are more than enough bathrooms/showers for the cabins.
- Cancellations made within 30 days prior to the date of travel will incur a 100% cancellation fee
- Within 30 days, the amendment of travel date can be made outside 14 days prior to travel

I did overnight cruise in Doubtful Sound with my partner. It was absolutely wonderful experience. Doubtful Sound is beautiful! The staff was very friendly and polite. The food was very good and the room was clean with comfortable bed. I would greatly recommend it.
