What you can expect

Take the ferry from Darwin to Bathurst Island, where the vibrant world of the Tiwi's, full of art, culture, and community, comes to life. Led by a local guide, your day begins with a warm welcome ceremony including traditional smoking and totem dances. Settle in with morning tea, before exploring the Tiwi Designed Art Centre and painted buildings of Wurrumiyanga. Your guide will then walk you through the historic Mission Precinct and tell stories of Tiwi creation and WWII involvement, followed by a Patakijiyali Museum visit.

After a relaxed lunch in the shade, it's your turn to get creative with a hands-on screen-printing workshop. Print your own t-shirt, tea towel, or fabric with a Tiwi design of your choice, creating an unforgettable souvenir. Finally, enjoy some free time to browse locally made art, carvings, and textiles before hopping back on the ferry to Darwin.
