Spend your Sunday morning exploring rare heritage sites and discovering the powerful story of Bendigo’s Chinese miners. Begin your tour at the 1850s Chinese Diggings, where you can pan for gold, before wandering through one of Australia's most significant Chinese cemeteries. Visit the oldest Chinese temple on its original site in regional Australia, the Chinese Joss House Temple, and stop by the Larni Garingiland Gardens for a morning tea break of tea and fresh scones at the Omari Cafe. Conclude with a visit to the dazzling Golden Dragon Museum, home to the world's largest Imperial Dragon, and enjoy some free time among the tranquil Yi Yuan Gardens.
Great tour
We had been to Bendigo many times in the past, but the operator claimed that he could show us some new things all the same. He certainly did. We learned about the early days of the miners and events and buildings in area of the now botanical gardens, then it was to some early mining sites, the Chinese cemetery and the Joss House. We enjoyed the day and can recommend it
A wonderful tour with a friendly very informative guide - very worthwhile
27 years in Bendigo and I went to places that I have never been to before. My wife and I were fortunate to be able to join Jamie from Bendigo Guided Tours on a very informative tour of the Chinese mines and precinct. We firstly went to see some mines just off a road I have travelled a thousand times before and I didn’t know that these mines existed. We also went to the Joss house and Chinese Gardens that I have never been in to. A lovely morning tea at Omari and also a visit to the Chinese Museum. If anyone is wanting a tour, I would recommend Bendigo Guided Tours. Jamie also does food orientated tours. A brunch tour might be our next one.
Great afternoon exploring Bendigo and some of it's amazing eateries.
Had a fantastic afternoon exploring Bendigo, listening to some history and experiencing some delicious food and drinks. I can highly recommend this tour to anyone. If you are a tourist visiting Bendigo or a local (like myself). You will love it.. Jamie was extremely passionate about Bendigo and the tour. Such a great guide. I'm already planning my next tour with Bendigo Guided Tours, as loved it that much. Thanks Jamie for a great afternoon..
