What you can expect
Muriwai Beach extends 60KM & it’s famous for its sparkling black sand, Surfing paradise, The Gannet Colony.
Tour starts with picking you up from Auckland CBD; then you’ll enjoy a one-hour scenic drive through the Waitakere Ranges, Kumeu Wine trail and Strawberry farms. With a stop for a scenic lookout over Muriwai Beach, Motutara Island & The Gannet Colony.
Firstly we will have a few stops at different lookouts over the Gannet Colony to a closer look at the Gannets (easy hikes). Then we will have another stop by the beautiful cove just at the beginning of the beach.
(The Gannets nesting season is from August until March, you might find some off season too but it’s not 100% guaranteed)
You will be able to spend about one hour on the beach for a swim or just relax and enjoy the stunning views. After that, we go for some wine tasting at one of Kumeu’s oldest wineries where you will get a chance to see the beautiful vines and capture some amazing photos.

- In the event, you have purchased a Private tour and subsequently wish to cancel it, Auckland & Beyond Tours may refund your booking at its sole discretion, in which event you will be charged a cancellation fee as follows: a. 7 – 10 days prior to the date of the tour – 25% of your ticket plus any booking fees and charges. b. 4 – 6 days prior to the date of the tour – 50% of your ticket plus any booking fees and charges. c. 72 hours or less will be charged 100% of the ticket.
