A unique opportunity to participate as crew on an actual America’s Cup yacht - we offer everyone the opportunity to sail these grand-prix racing machines, no experience necessary.
With guidance from our professional crew you will become part of the team sailing this authentic race vessel. Take the helm, exert energy on the grinders or sit back relax and enjoy the action as we sail the beautiful Waitemata Harbour.

What you need to know
- 2 hour America's Cup Sailing Experience
- Full safety briefing before departure
- Lifejackets
- Participation is not compulsory if you prefer to sit back and watch the action
- In wet weather rain jackets will also be provided
- Please check in for your trip 15 minutes prior to departure
- Operates 11am and 2pm Daily during Summer Months (November-March)
- Operates 1pm Daily during Winter Months (April-October)
- The America's Cup Sailing Experience is 2 hours in duration
- Explore Booking Kiosk (opposite Maritime Museum), 220 Quay Street, Viaduct Harbour, Auckland 1010
- Please wear a light jacket and flat soled shoes
- Sunglasses/Hat
- Water Bottle
- Camera/Phone for photos
- 100% cancellation fee within 24hrs of experience
- This trip is suitable for children 10 years and over
- No sailing experience necessary and participation in sailing is not essential
- No toilets on board
- Includes full safety briefing prior to boarding
- Not recommended for pregnant women and people with medical conditions, please discuss any medical issues with us at time of booking
- Explore Group requires 24 hours’ notice of cancellation for all scheduled departure bookings.
- Explore Group reserve the right to alter proposed routes or cancel any departure in the interest of passenger safety and/or comfort.
- All departures are subject to minimum numbers, sea and weather conditions and Explore Group reserves the right to cancel departures in the event that requirements are not met.
