Boathaven Beach Airlie Beach

What you can expect

Standing as a man-made effort to create a safe swimming beach at Airlie Beach which is otherwise fairly lacking, Boathaven Beach was the result of multiple years of effort to coincide with the development of the Port of Airlie district. Offering sheltered swimming conditions, some authentic and picturesque sand on which to relax or play in, and stinger nets that allow for year-round swimming without protection (although it still pays to remain cautious during stinger season), it's been widely acclaimed as Airlie Beach's best beach since its opening a few years ago. Spending the day at Boathaven Beach provides some great views of the boat traffic travelling to and fro from the nearby marina, and the beach remains sandy at all times regardless of the tides. It's a quiet and secluded beach away from the majority of tourist crowds, yet is still within walking distance of the town itself. The beach is a top spot for families in particular, as kids can have fun both playing in the safe waters and building sandcastles on the shore. If you're looking for a great clean, pretty, and sandy alternative to the slightly more sterile Airlie Beach Lagoon, then Boathaven Beach makes for an ideal choice.
