What you can expect

Journey from Wellington to Wētā Workshop and back again in a dedicated shuttle, with lunch included.

With daily tours departing from the city centre, sit back, relax and enjoy stunning harbour views, insider stories of film and creativity and even spot the iconic Wellywood sign on the way to our creative home in Miramar.

From The Lord of the Rings to Avatar and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, learn about the making of props, costumes and creatures created for your favourite films on a 90-minute guided tour. Interact with cool stuff from our many departments, catch our artists at work and discover how we’ve grown into the award-winning company you see today.

While you’re here, you’ll have ample time to visit the Wētā Cave, a favourite destination for film enthusiasts guarded by our Cave Trolls. Buy authentic Wētā Workshop-designed collectibles, prop replicas, movie memorabilia and much more.

Then finally, enjoy a delicious lunch on the waterfront at Wellington-favourite, Karaka Café, as part of your half-day experience. There you will finish your journey with a two-course lunch featuring dishes unique to Aotearoa, New Zealand. Vegan options available.
