What you can expect

This experience begins in Wānaka, with a scenic one-hour drive into the Matukituki Valley, before a full-day hiking adventure that includes return transfers and lunch. When you reach Mt Aspiring National Park, your local guide will lead you along the banks of the Matukituki River before crossing a stunning swing bridge and taking a steady climb into the alpine rainforest with a wide variety of flora and fauna. During the two and a half hour walk you'll have plenty of opportunities for unforgettable photographs as you navigate past towering icefalls and cascading waterfalls.

As lunch time approaches, the forest clears and the natural beauty of the Rob Roy Glacier is uncovered, the perfect moment to enjoy gourmet sandwiches and light refreshments of tea and coffee. Throughout the day, lean on the knowledge of experienced local guides, who are with you from pick-up to drop-off, offering their insights into the area and its history as well as providing hiking poles if required to enhance your experience.
