What you can expect
Head out from Wānaka Marina on a three-hour guided fishing charter for rainbow trout, brown trout and quinnat salmon on one of the South Island’s great trout lakes. Within 15 to 30 minutes, you’ll reach productive fishing grounds. There, a skipper who lives and fishes here puts their local knowledge to work against a Southern Alps backdrop.
On board, techniques shift with the day’s conditions, from trolling and downrigging to spinning and jigging, with up to three lines in the water at once. Beginners are patiently coached, while seasoned anglers will appreciate the insider know-how. All gear, snacks and drinks are included, with departures at 9am or 2pm for up to six guests.
