Guided by a local fishing pro, you will try a variety of techniques, from trolling and spinning to jigging and using downriggers to reach the cooler depths, reeling in iconic fish such as trout or salmon.
The boat's electric trolling motor keeps the ride quiet and eco-friendly, so you can fully enjoy nature without disturbing noise. Add an optional locally made lunch for the ultimate lakeside break and take home your fresh catch for another delicious meal later. - This experience is six hours in duration.
- Lake Wānaka Marina is just minutes from the town centre. Enter "Lake Wānaka Marina" into Google Maps. Access is via Lakeside Road near Eely Point Road, with parking and signage available.

- Valid fishing license if held
- Sturdy, non-slip footwear
- Waterproof jacket
- Warm sweater or fleece during cooler months
- Sun protection; sunscreen, hat, sunglasses
- A fishing licence is required for this trip; this can be purchased onboard prior to departure
- Children under 12 must be accompanied by at least one paying adult
- Minimum of two participants required for this experience to operate
- You will be contacted 24 hours prior if minimum numbers have not been met
- No refund will be provided if the trip is cancelled due to unsafe or inappropriate customer behaviour
- This experience operates in most weather conditions; the cabin is dry and weather protected
- In extreme weather conditions the tour may be cancelled if safety is a concern, you will be contacted by the provider and rescheduled
- Private charters are available by booking all 6 spots; this ensures your group has exclusive use of the boat
- Locally made lunch is available at extra cost, please contact experience provider to add this
- Change your booking up to 7 days before the start time of your experience
- Changes are not permitted within 7 days of your experience
- Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience
