What you can expect
The Twizel Stargazing Experience offers a mesmerising journey into the heart of the Aoraki Mackenzie International Dark Sky Reserve. This guided tour immerses you in one of the world's clearest night skies using high-powered telescopes.
We are a Carbon positive activity!! Meaning we are taking in more carbon carbon dioxide than we produce! We are owned and operated by a local family who are very focused on sustainability, making sure all of our activities are sustainable for the future.

- This experience takes place in Twizel, Mackenzie District
- Distinction MacKenzie Country Hotel, Cnr Ostler &, Wairepo Road, Twizel 7901
- Make sure you wear enough warm clothes & shoes. Even during summertime the temperature can get cold in Twizel.
- Please do not wear any clothing accessories or shoes that could emit lights.
- You will be able to look at the moon surface with our telescope during Full Moon!
- If you would like to look at the Milky Way with your naked eyes, New Moon would be the best time!
- Always have an extra night just incase the weather is not good, the operator can reschedule you to the next night for free!
- Stargazing is subject to weather conditions. Tour photos are complimentary and weather dependent. It will be provided via a digital link 48 hours after the tour. Please wear sturdy footwear & warm clothes.
- Reschedule your booking up to 24 hours before the start time of your experience. 100% cancellation fee applies for any changes within 24 hours of your tour. Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your ticket.
- Confirmation in the form of a tour voucher will be received at time of booking
- Upon completion of purchase, please print the voucher and present on day of the experience
- Mobile Vouchers are accepted! - Vouchers can also be presented on your mobile device for this attraction
