Travel through rugged national park terrain, following your guide along cliff edges and ridgelines while soaking up some of the region’s best views. With groups capped at six, there’s plenty of time for guidance, encouragement and taking it all in at your own pace. Along the way, you’ll tick off highlights like the knife-edge traverse, a steady climb up Elephant’s Hide, sweeping views from Mackey’s Peak and a stunning walk through Venus Baths. Finishing with an unforgettable abseil above Halls Gap, descending an incredible 70 metres for a grand finale like no other.

- Arrival and gear up: Meet at the shop in Halls Gap, where you will be fitted with helmets and harnesses and receive a safety briefing
- The approach: Enjoy a scenic walk to Venus Baths and cross the creek to reach the base of the climb
- The ascent: Begin a technical fixed rope climb on the steep sandstone of Elephant’s Hide, using scrambling routes and hidden gullies
- The summit: Reach Mackey’s Peak and take in expansive 360-degree views across the Fyans Valley and surrounding ranges
- The traverse: Navigate the exposed knife-edge ridgeline with safety ropes in place so you can focus on the experience and views
- The ultimate abseil: Descend one by one on a 70 metre vertical rope directly above Halls Gap
- Return: Finish with a short walk back into town to remove gear and reflect on the experience

- This is a full-day experience, approximately six hours in duration.

- Do I need prior rock climbing experience? No prior experience is required, but a head for heights is essential, and this six-hour adventure is more physically and mentally demanding than beginner programs
- What is the fitness level required? A reasonable level of fitness is needed as the tour includes steep rocky ascents and sustained physical activity with breaks along the way
- Is this tour suitable for children? This experience is best suited for ages 12 and above, with participants able to carry their own water and food for the full six-hour duration

- Not suitable for those who are pregnant

- Minimum age of 12 years and above
- Moderate level of fitness and a good head for heights required
- In the event of rain or inclement weather, your experience will still go ahead unless contacted by the experience provider

- Late arrivals or no-shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

Great abseiling and rock climbing experience
Great experience doing abseil and rock climbing as a first timer. Our guide was friendly, patient and encouraging and we felt safe throughout while having a fun and challenging time. Wonderful location to get a feel of what real rock climbing is about Having the gear supplied was also a plus - would recommend if heading to Halls Gap.
