What you can expect
Join the Kuku Yalanji people on a full-day cultural journey through the rainforest, rivers and coastline of Tropical North Queensland. Guided by Traditional Custodians, you'll gain insight into the world's oldest living culture across Kuku Yalanji Country. Beginning with a traditional Smoking and Grounding Ceremony, you'll hear stories of Jalun (sea) and Bubu (land), and learn about local customs and the deep connection between land, spirituality and everyday life.
Travel through the Daintree, visiting Cooya Beach, Mossman Gorge and Cape Tribulation to see ancient traditions still alive today. Try your hand at traditional stone tool making, learn about bush foods and rainforest medicines, and hear creation stories and local history. With a small group size, lunch, snacks and hotel transfers included, this immersive experience offers an authentic way to connect with Country and the people who have cared for it for generations.
