Mission Estate Winery

What you can expect

The oldest winery in New Zealand and the birthplace of NZ wine, Mission Estate Winery has been in operation since 1851. With over 160 years of wine making under their belt, you know the wine is going to be a winner. All of their wines are made using the latest technologies as well as various traditional techniques passed down from French Missionaries who created Mission Estate all those years ago. With the main house perched on top of a hill overlooking the rolling vineyards, simply visiting the Estate for the views is a definite must. The Cellar Door is open to guests for a peak inside this historic Estate and a taste of some of their award-winning wines. Tours operate twice a day on a daily basis taking visitors around the grounds and teaching them about the Estate's rich history. If you'd rather just visit and explore for yourself, the cellar door is open seven days a week.
