Hanmer Heritage Forest Walks

Hanmer Heritage Forest is spread over 5,150 hectares of land and is home to a large variety of flora. Exploring the forest is both easy and scenic thanks to the numerous walking trails covering 50 kilometres throughout the area. There are three main walking trails; the Forest Amble, Forest Walk and Forest Journey, each stretching for different distances. The Forest Amble trail takes around 30 minutes to complete and is the shortest of the three. the Forest Walk takes around an hour to complete while the Forest Journey stretches to be around a 1.25 hour walk. All three of these trails will take walkers through the beautiful forest to see all of the flora and fauna that live and grow in the area. If visiting in spring or autumn, walkers will be treated to beautiful, vibrant colours as the forest changes with the seasons.
