What you can expect
Experience the thrill of learning to surf with this comprehensive course designed to build your confidence in the waves. You’ll be guided by lifeguard-qualified instructors who will coach you through every step across three two-hour surf lessons. From paddling out and catching your first waves to mastering the pop-up straight to your feet, you'll gain practical skills and confidence with every session. On the sand, you’ll start with beach theory, covering surf etiquette and safety essentials, before putting it all into practice in the water.
Between lessons, continue your progress with 12 online surf theory modules that give you a deeper understanding of the ocean, surf conditions, and techniques. Additionally, personalised feedback will let you know exactly where to improve as you catch wave after wave. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to refine your technique, this experience blends practical lessons, online learning, and expert coaching to set you on the path to surfing independently.

What you need to know
- Three surf lessons, each two hours long
- 12 online surf theory modules
- Lifeguard-qualified surf instructors
- Surfboard, leg rope, full-length rash vest or full-length wetsuit
- Each surf lesson is approximately two hours in duration.
- This experience departs from the Go Ride A Wave - Torquay shop, located at 1/15 Bell St, Torquay, VIC 3228.

- Children under nine must be accompanied by a parent who is not participating in the lesson and who can come into the water to assist.
- Change your booking up to 24 hours before the start time of your experience
- Changes are not permitted within 24 hours of your experience
- Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience
- Confirmation in the form of a tour voucher will be received at time of booking
- Upon completion of purchase, please print the voucher and present on day of the experience
