What you can expect
Saddle up and get ready to excel as you embark on a one-hour Peruvian Paso horse riding lesson, led by experienced trainers and tailored to your comfort and skill level. Set in Mount Nathan, amongst the scenic valleys of the Gold Coast Hinterland, you’ll meet the much‑loved Peruvian Paso horses, known for their smooth ride and calm, steady nature. Kick things off with a safety briefing and a chat with your friendly instructor about what you’d like to achieve in your lesson, before taking to the yard to dive in.
Protected with a helmet and with the reins in hand, you’ll start learning how to communicate with your horse using simple body movements, voice cues and gentle rein pressure. During the lesson, you’ll build confidence as you learn how to read your horse’s behaviour and guide it safely and calmly. Mastering the basics of horsemanship and growing your skills in a secure round pen, ideal for beginners and those with some riding experience alike. Take the lesson at your own pace, and walk away feeling proud, more capable, and confident around horses, regardless of your age or starting level.

- Lessons are available from Wednesday to Sunday at 9.30am, 10.40am, 11.50am and 1pm
- Please arrive 15 minutes prior to lesson start
- The experience is one hour in duration.
- The experience is located at Historic Rivermill, 950 Beaudesert Nerang Rd, Mount Nathan, QLD 4211.
- Long pants
- Closed-toe shoes
- Sunscreen and a hat
- Light jacket
- Minimum age is eight years
- Participants under 18 years old require the consent of a parent or guardian
- Not available on Mondays, Tuesdays or public holidays
- Maximum weight of 90kg
- Maximum of two participants per session
- This experience is suitable for riders of all skill levels
- Groups of more than two will be accommodated in separate turns
- Please contact the experience provider prior to your arrival to confirm your experience
- This experience is a riding lesson and does not include a trail ride
- In extreme weather conditions, the tour may be cancelled if safety is a concern, you will be contacted by the provider and rescheduled
- Change your booking up to 7 days before the start time of your experience
- Changes are not permitted within 7 days of your experience
- Late arrivals or no-shows may result in you forfeiting your experience
- Confirmation in the form of a tour voucher will be received at time of booking
