Spend around three hours seeing two sides of Christchurch on a combined tram and gondola pass. Start in the central city aboard a restored heritage tram, where an all day pass lets you hop on and off at 18 stops, including Riverside Market, the Botanic Gardens, the Avon River and New Regent Street. Your driver shares live commentary as you go, and the full circuit takes about 50 minutes if you prefer to stay aboard.
The gondola sits around 15 minutes by vehicle from the city centre, and you arrange your own transport between the two. The cable car climbs to the summit of Mt Cavendish in approximately 10 minutes, opening up Christchurch, Lyttelton Harbour, the Southern Alps and Banks Peninsula below. At the top, take the six minute Christchurch Discovery Ride, walk the summit tracks or stop at the café. Use both attractions on the same day or split them across two.
Fun
Gondala was totally worth it unfortunately I didn't think the Trams were really worth the $$
