What you can expect

Explore the Hawkesbury River from the driver's seat on a one hour guided jet car tour departing Brooklyn, around an hour's drive from Sydney city or a short train ride away. You will meet your guide at the old Brooklyn railway bridge for a safety induction and training session, then head out beneath the railway and freeway bridges before opening up the throttle.

The route weaves past Peat Island and Milson Island, curves around Bar Island and continues up to Spencer, with towering sandstone cliffs lining the water on either side. Keep your eyes on the banks and shallows for pelicans, herons, ibises, spoonbills, ducks and river hens, all regulars along this stretch of river. No licence or experience is needed, so the tour suits confident drivers and complete first timers alike, with your guide leading the group the whole way. Up to two people can ride in each jet car, making it an easy one for couples, mates or a parent and child.
