The focus of the night is on the fascinating world of nocturnal creatures that live in the Cairns Botanical Gardens. Experience the captivating behaviors of frogs, reptiles, spiders, and a host of night-active insects. You will be introduce to beloved species like the White-lipped tree frog and various fascinating spiders, including the Net-casting, Mirror-ball, and Huge Orb-weaver spiders.
This tour is a photographer’s paradise, providing unique opportunities to capture stunning images of nocturnal wildlife in their natural habitat. As you wander through the night, keep an eye out for Micro-bats, Papuan Frogmouths, Striped Possums, and other elusive animals that come alive after dark. Each night walk offers a fresh and unpredictable experience, ensuring you'll leave with not only beautiful photographs but also lasting memories of nature’s wonders.

- A two-hour and 30-minute, night-time nature and bug exploration tour
- Commentary from an experienced guide
- An experienced nature and macro photographer
- Ledlenser head torches
- Cameras.
- Cameras are available to rent at additional cost, please contact the experience provider directly in advance
- Participants renting a camera must arrive 30 minutes before the start of the tour to complete payments and receive a tutorial
- Available daily at 7pm
- Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of the tour
- This experience is two hours and 30 minutes.
- This experience departs from the main entrance to Cairns Botanic Gardens, at 78-96 Collins Ave, Edge Hill, QLD 4870.
- Please wear clothing suitable to the weather conditions on the day
- Enclosed shoes are recommended
- An extra layer is encouraged during colder months
- Minimum age is 18 years old
- Children are not able to participate
- Maximum of six participants
