What you can expect

One of Bundaberg's best options for entertainment on a rainy day, the Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery is a wonderful regional gallery that offers some excellent displays and exhibitions despite its relatively small size. Located in central Bundaberg, the gallery is split out over two levels and features a regularly rotating lineup of exhibitions that cover everything from paintings, to fashion, to the historic, as well as holding occasional exhibits conducted with children in mind as well. The gallery certainly "punches above its weight" in terms of the quality of its offerings, with the Bundaberg region's history documented via photos that showcase its development, as well as the work of local Bundaberg artists covering a range of different art forms, and even displays featuring work by local students. The gallery is a credit to Bundaberg's council that is run and staffed by volunteers who are extremely friendly and knowledgeable about its works and also man the gallery's lovely little gift shop that's well worth perusing for a keepsake of your visit here. Depending on your level of interest in the current display, it's possible to spend one or two hours here, and given that it's entirely free to enter, represents a must-visit proposition for any first time visitor o the Bundaberg region.
