New Farm Park

What you can expect

New Farm Park is a huge park that's exceptionally popular amongst locals as a large, well-equipped slice of greenery not far from the CBD. Set out over an expansive 37 acres, there are numerous reasons for the park's popularity in Brisbane; it's easily accessible from the CBD, it offers a solid array of facilities, and it's a lovely, greenery and floral environment in which to relax. New Farm Park's spacious size brings along with it many benefits, particularly for families, as it's got plenty of space for kids to run around and burn off energy, or for spreading out a picnic rug. Kids will love the park's wonderful children's playground and jungle gym, and although it can get busy with a large volume of children there's always enough space to go round. Adults will also enjoy their time here, as the park is both well-kept and often beautiful, particularly during spring when the many colourful flowers are in bloom. New Farm Park has a number of lovely examples of horticulture and plenty of decorative plants interspersed throughout, including a number of rose bushes that make for a pleasant backdrop. More active types can take advantage of the number of boardwalks and walking trails that follow alongside the Brisbane River, then follow it up by relaxing in the numerous shaded spots provided by the large Moreton Bay fig trees that populate the park. Those looking to eat here can utilise the many tables and benches, or cook a meal on the clean electric barbecues available for use. There are also plenty of options for quality dining in the streets surrounding New Farm Park. On weekends, the park is home to the popular New Farm Markets where fresh produce can be purchased, and if visiting it's a good idea to take public transport due to scarcity of parking. It's an excellent all-round public space to visit in Brisbane.
