What you can expect

Jump on board an authentic Ballarat tram that transported people around town until 1971. Buy your ticket from one of the friendly volunteers geared up in authentic uniforms and take your seat on some of the oldest trams - some are over 100 years old. Your ticket will take you along the original 1.3 kilometre track, through the Botanical Gardens and along Lake Wendouree. The trams run every weekend and the historic display area is open during opening hours. The museum works to preserve the style and transport of the old town of Ballarat for the joy of the public. There aren’t many experiences like this one anymore with authentic conductors, paper tickets, traditional uniforms and even original style paperwork. Ballarat Tram Museum shows visitors what this mode of transport was like before the trendy trams seen running around Melbourne.
