Picture yourself rock climbing on a 30-metre high cliff with panoramic views of a gorge and large permanent rock pools. You make this a reality on a guided rock climb and abseil at Onkaparinga River National Park in South Australia.

This is one of the most picturesque locations close to Adelaide to learn how to rock climb and abseil real rock cliff faces with expert guides. The beautiful location is surrounded by nature and you’ll have plenty of time to soak up the views while waiting for your turn. No climbing experience is necessary, first-timers are welcome to come along and enjoy this fun, outdoor activity with expert guidance every step of the way.

What To Bring

  • Loose fitting clothes appropriate for the weather
  • Sunscreen and Sunglasses are recommended for sunny days
  • Please bring plenty of water, approximately 0.5 litre per hour for hot days

  • A good level of mobility and fitness is required to undertake this experience; it involves some inclines and uneven surfaces

  • Participant changes can be made up until 24 hours prior to the experience
  • Minimum of two and a maximum of eight participants
  • Minimum age is 12 years old, children (12-17 years) must be accompanied by an adult
  • Minimum weight is 25kg and maximum weight is 120kg
  • Minimum height 120cm
  • No experience necessary; the guides will help you with instruction, technical expertise and encouragement
  • This experience runs in most weather conditions. Should the weather be deemed unsafe, the experience provider will contact you via email or SMS as soon as possible to reschedule your booking. If you do not receive a notification prior to your session, you may safely assume that your experience will be going ahead. Unfortunately, there may be some instances where bursts of extreme weather are not as forecast, which may result in the session being cancelled upon arrival
