What you can expect

Cowes Beach is one of Phillip Island’s family-friendly bay beaches; a popular destination for locals and tourists. The bay is very popular with swimmers due to its shallow high tide, its distance from swells and facilities in close proximity to the jetty - it is the island’s commercial hub. Cowes Beach, east of he jetty, is a great swimming location, suitable for all ages and capabilities. Pack a picnic and make your way down to Cowes Beach for an enjoyable, relaxing day. There isn’t any surfing in the area so swimmers can enjoy the water without being weary of rogue boards. The area is surrounded by a range of seaside eateries and shops as well as historical exhibitions explaining the island’s history and culture. You could spend all day in Cowes, especially the beach, so allow enough time to explore the area and relax on the gorgeous beach.
