Located on the lower slopes of Black Mountain in Canberra, the Australian National Botanic Gardens proudly boat the world’s most comprehensive display of living Australian native plants. With a living collection of approximately 74,000 individual plants, the magnitude of gorgeous foliage to witness over the 40-hectare property is astounding! Catering to more than 6200 species, the living collection represents roughly one third of Australia’s native plants. Tale advantage of the range of walking tails that intertwine throughout the gardens, with different walks available to suit all tastes and abilities. Not only for nature lovers, the Australian National Botanic Gardens is the perfect day out for anyone looking for a way to relax and simply enjoy the great outdoors! Take advantage of the grand open lawns perfect for playing on, enjoy a picnic at one of the tables or simply sightsee all the interesting plans and wildlife that call the gardens home. Open every day other than Christmas from 8.30am until 5pm, there is no reason why the Australian National Botanic Gardens shouldn’t be on your must visit list.
